Love the mod. Would be really awesome if heat pipes could be added as an option. I get that it might make things more complicated but it would be really nice to have. Thank you for your consideration.

And I would really like to add it.. but .. I am not yet sure how, though. There's some finesse involved in not-planning fluid pipes in certain locations to keep space for a heat pipe, that I don't really know how to translate to code.

Once (.. if .. ) I figure it out, I'll make sure to add it. But I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Thank you for the suggestion though. It motivates me to think a little harder on it.

FYI, I've added automatic heat pipe layout to OilOutpostPlanner, my mod which serves a very similar purpose to P.U.M.P.

My approach makes no effort to place pipes in a manner which makes later heat pipe placement easier; I'm sure it doesn't always work, but it seems fairly successful in my experiments so far.

Nice case of how competition works. You're "forcing" me to innovate, or fall behind. 😅

I might give it a try at some point. It's encouraging to know it can be done, and its good there's an alternative that already does it.
In the meantime I finished my playthrough I am not focused on Factorio right now. I played it too intensely for a while and I need to cool down a little bit with a couple of other games before I try another round. This also means no focus for new features for this mod for a little while. But I bet I get reinvigorated again if the anticipated v2.1 of Factorio comes out.
