Hi, I've got another idea for planet.
I do not know how much are you familiar with generator and how much should be changed according to needs of game.
But the idea, planet would be:
* always rotated by one side to sun
* or with vertical rotation axis, day night cycle is done only in Fulgora -> Gleba strip
Sides:
* east side will look like Vulcanus
* always hot, will cause heat damage to player until research is done
* transition belt east: Fulgora
* middle: Nauvis (desert or dry -> amazonian or ocean)
* transition belt west: Gleba
* west side will look like Aquillo
* always cold, will cause frost damage to player until research done
* may not be covered by iced ocean
* always night
The sides shoud be maybe scripted, so the generation shuld be not seamless, they may be separated maps bounded by width of each one.
There should be also special building on these ends of bioms, that may share the resources between each part.
