The module calibrator has slightly better yield than a recycler and an electromagnetic plant filled with legendary quality 3 modules, if the yield is measured by the number of outputs per input that have gained quality levels. It also has slightly better yield by number of outputs that did not gain a quality level. I encourage you to verify by calculating the yield.
I also would like to have an option, since I also have other mods that I can just change the way i want it. Right now the Module Calibrator getting useless for me since the Augmentor Mod seems to have better results with less Quality. I would need less "destroy rate" to make it equal, while having a better +Quality Rate. So it would give a reason to use it over/with the Augmentor mod.
Nobody get hurt from giving ppl options. Default can stay as calculation to the base game would match. It make sense in that way - just not if you consider also other mod into it.
Same time i will open a request an option on the Augmentor Mod to disabled Modules there if Module Calibrator was found. This way it give both mods a connection (could make it optional on both then). https://mods.factorio.com/mod/augmentor-fork/discussion/69db7c2b1c7472d8c772d9c4
Edit/Info: Augmentor Mod added my request.
