Modular Balancer

by alcojs

A modular N:M belt balancer: place 1x1 blocks in any connected shape and attach belts. Every belt feeding the group is an input, every belt it feeds is an output, and the outputs share exactly equally.

Changelog

Version: 0.1.3
Date: 2026-10-30
  Bugfixes:
    - A belt dragged across a balancer's input or output belt replaced that belt and merged the two lines. The last belt tile next to a block is now an obstacle to belts crossing it: a dragged belt goes under it with underground belts. Dragging a belt along the line in its direction still replaces it (to upgrade it); a single belt can no longer be clicked onto it.
Version: 0.1.2
Date: 2026-10-27
  Bugfixes:
    - A balancer block ghost placed on a belt (for example a forced ghost build with shift) no longer makes construction robots carry the block back: the belt is marked for deconstruction and the block replaces it, keeping the belt and its items.
Version: 0.1.1
Date: 2026-10-27
  Changes:
    - Characters and vehicles can move over balancer blocks, as over belts. Blocks still cannot overlap buildings, inserters, rails, trees, water or other blocks.
Version: 0.1.0
Date: 2026-10-27
  Features:
    - Modular N:M belt balancer: place 1x1 blocks in any connected shape and attach belts; every belt feeding a block is an input, every belt it feeds is an output.
    - Exact equal outputs, inputs drawn equally under backpressure, no items lost or duplicated, no per-tick script work in the steady state.
    - Per-balancer settings: balance lanes, redistribute unused shares. Copy-paste settings and blueprints keep them.
    - Four tiers matching the vanilla belts (turbo with or without Space Age); blueprints, undo/redo, ghosts and the upgrade planner work.
