I have been playing through Exotic Space Industries (I will refer to it as ESI for this post) and have found that unfortunately the miners from ESI do not get placed correctly when using the sparse layout. For example when placing the steam miners it attempts to place belts in a completely incorrect locations and even through the miners for some. I also does not place any pipes for steam. I was wondering if you would be willing to take a look into this or if too busy possibly give me permission to make a fix and send it to you as I am sure it will be useful for others as well.

Thank you! Just gave it a test and the placement for sparse looks great. Only thing for the steam drills is that it still does not seem to want to place pipes. I am not sure if this is just an issue on my end, but I figured it couldnt hurt to bring up.

Oh, uhh, try the "Force pipe" option that appears when "Advanced options" gearbox is enabled.

Edit:

It automatically places pipes when the resource needs drilling fluid.
Will add a check if drill uses fluid as fuel.
