I have noticed that I'm spending alot of time calculating how much resources each belt will have on the exit, and then thinking how to connect them so that they can all be fully saturated and be grouped at the end for further transport.
It would be great if the planner could take the output belts and try to merge them with the next one until the belt gets saturated. :D
There is already saturation information, and you know where are exit belts, and where they all end.
So the idea for merging is to start from left or right (or maybe center) and then:
- Place belt that turn towards the neighbouring belt
- Place more belts in direction of the next belut until you get one belt away
- And place the last belt towards the exit
- Place splitter at the exit
- And place the one additional belt on the next exit to connect to the splitter
- If the output of those connected exits is still not saturated, connect them to the next belt
- If the belt is saturated, bring it to the next belt, but don't connect it with the splitter
Idea is to have all grouped exit belts that will be saturated so that they can be connected further ...
Of course, there might be better solutions, but this is just to give an idea :D
