Compact and UPS-friendly 1x1 loaders. Works with train cargo wagons, circuits, filters, and modded belts from Bob's, Krastorio, FactorioExtended Plus, Space Exploration, and Ultimate Belts.
Update: I tested Deadlock's loaders and they have the same problem. Your loaders worked as expected until recently. Perhaps something in the base game changed to break inserting?
They still seem to be working fine here. Could you post a screenshot and/or blueprint string of a situation that isn't working for you?
I have noticed some instances since 1.1.69 where input or output don't seem to be switching automatically in situations that I thought it would before, but I haven't done any systematic test and was wondering if it's just my imagination that it would have switched before.
In this save file (and can be seen in the screenshot) the miniloader isn't loading because it is placed backward, i.e. the inventory side of the loader is facing the belt and the belt side is facing the box. This is able to happen in this case because the "snap miniloaders" setting in Mod Settings -> Map -> Miniloader is shut off, so the miniloader has to be manually placed in the correct orientation. But you may have disabled this because there are situations that snapping goes wrong and currently the only way to fix it when that happens is to shut it off (see https://mods.factorio.com/mod/miniloader/discussion/62fd7b0071b942d9fa0eb683).
Re-enabling snapping did fix this issue, however, you're right that I do have snapping disabled because of issues like you referenced.
I see when snapped, the flush side of the loader is against the chest. When snapping is disabled, I can't seem to find any rotation that attaches to the chest properly. Is there a trick to the manual orientation that I'm missing?
The chevrons indicate which direction items are flowing through the miniloader. The "flush" side of the miniloader is always the "inventory" or box side, the other side is (graphically) a small piece of belt sticking out and always connects to another belt. It's probably a little more easily seen in north-south oriented loaders than the east-west ones. Here's a screenshot of some miniloaders not connected to anything that hopefully shows it a little better.
Also as a bit of an aside, since the miniloaders simply 'take from' or 'place to' the tile adjacent to that flat side, the north/south oriented loaders in this shot will feed each other without a box there.
