I could give it a try, depending on the complexity of the original mods and whether they are truly abandoned. The story with this particular mod had a "happy ending," as the author confirmed they are no longer continuing support. Could you please share some links to those mods?

Those look very much more than a simple reskin. The thing is 2.0 -> 2.1 transition is a little bit more complicated than just changing a version number in a json file, unfortunetelly, I won't do it
