Legacy rails are here to stay!
This mod adds a shortcut button which allows you to place the "Legacy rails" from Factorio versions prior to 2.0. Also has an optional keybind which can be assigned.
Useful for:
- If you're making a train mod and you want to test it on the old rails.
- You're a rail enthusiast and you want to experiment with tighter curves.
- You want to leave holes all over your rail network if the devs ever change their mind.
Read FFF-337: New new rails for an explanation of why rails were changed to the new system.
Legacy rails will use the existing "rail" item; you don't need to craft a second type of rail.
N.B. Using Pipette on legacy rails will always give the standard "rail" item. (Behaviour is unchanged from vanilla.)
When using the Elevated Rails mod, you can still switch rail layer, but Legacy rails can only be placed on the ground.
Also has a startup setting for "Cursed Mode", which allows the planner to place every type of rail and freely mix them.
