i [Fixed] Skin mod

Just wanted to ask if you have any plans to convert it into a "proper" skin that can be swapped to by one of the skin swapper mods on the mod portal, rather than always replacing the default engineer?
Regardless, I really like the skin, it's cute and very high quality.

Heya,

I'm not quite sure what a skin mod is, can you point me to one or two that you use or are popular. I am not clued up on it.

Cheers!

This TF2 Engineer character skin mod for example: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/engineer-tf2

It uses the !skins (Skins Factored) mod, which is both a library for character skin mods as well as a skin selector mod. There's also CharacterModHelper too.

yeah I wanted to add this to a multiplayer server but it causes issues because there's no longer a default dude.

miniMAXIme depends on all the skin/character mods I know of, and allows players switching characters on the fly during the game. I've also made the CharacterModHelper (mentioned above by @starblaster64), which helps you define your character in a way that it doesn't overwrite the default character unless necessary. The helper mod contains example code and documentation.
(Note: If you want to make your mod compatible with miniMAXIme, just add a dependency on the helper mod, but NOT on miniMAXIme.)

because this is not a "real" skin mod, it conflicts with https://mods.factorio.com/mod/emberthal

Heya,

Got the chance to update the mod so it works with CharacterModHelper and miniMaxme. So it should work as a skin!

Cheers

Great! I've finally updated miniMAXIme, and added an optional dependency on your mod. :-)
