i Add Wind Turbine technology to research?

(updated 10 months ago)

Hello! I'm interested in your mod, but I'm confused by the availability of wind turbines from the beginning of the game....

In vanilla, electricity is researched first... This breaks the logic of the game... And the stone in the recipe is clearly unnecessary...

Could you create a choice of a variant with a separate technology as a setting? Or tie the unlocking of the recipe to an existing one? For example, steel production, but instead of stone, add a steel plate to the recipe?

I can certainly try to make a fork, but why multiply entities?

Thanks!

Hello,

As I remember, wind turbine from K2 is unlocked from the very beginning of the game and is made of materials you got on hand almost right at the moment you crashed.

Previously recipe already contained steel plates and it was so until I realize that it literally locks the turbine under red science which is not aligned with K2 so I replaced it with stone bricks. I want to keep things as they were designed by K2 developers: turbine is a source of miserable current but available right from the beginning

Stone makes perfect sense because to make something stand on a ground experiencing dynamic loads such as wind currents you definitely need a solid heavy base which is stone. Iron plates are used as both blades and structural pipes. Gears transfer and amplify wind power while copper wire used to make coils so rotor can rotate over them.

But you're free to take this mod and do anything you want. Considering this is not my original work plus someone already took it without any obvious reason and didn't even bothered to change an icon or at least remove my records from the release notes, not talking about maintaining them

Thanks for the answer.

I have already locally edited your mod for myself.
