It's highly unlikely I'll have enough stations to need the full UUID length.

What about starting with 3 or 4 characters, numbering sequentially instead of random, then increasing if needed.

A fancier feature is go through all the station names and fix the ones that aren't unique by adding or increasing the a number on the end. That would retain information such as "export byproduct." That would help those of us who didn't think duplicate names would be a problem. (Cybersyn handles it well, but sensible and unique names make it easier to debug the network.)

Edit: An ignore list is also needed -- so my idea of automatically renaming stations is to complicated. (Depots and fuel stops shouldn't be renamed.) Maybe "all stations called 'name in blueprint' " get renamed. Again, probably more complicated than I realize once it's thought through.)
