Go Green
Go Green adds an infinite technology, Green Engineering, that reduces the pollution produced by production machines and mining drills.
Green Engineering
Each level removes 10% of the pollution still remaining. The reduction compounds: after L completed levels, machines produce 0.9^L of their normal pollution.

The technology is infinite, so the reduction approaches 100% without reaching it.
Research
The research cost is 10,000 * 2^(L - 1) science-pack units for level L, with 60 seconds per unit.

Green Engineering requires the vanilla modules technology.
Ecological science pack
- Craft a tree seedling with water, landfill, and stone.
- Craft ecological science packs from a tree seedling plus basic production infrastructure.
- Insert the packs into a standard lab. Go Green adds the pack to that lab's accepted inputs.
How the pollution reduction works
On Factorio 2.1, Go Green applies a surface-wide pollution effect to assembling machines, furnaces, mining drills, and rocket silos. The effect is recalculated when the mod initializes, when its configuration changes, and after Green Engineering research completes.
Surface effects are shared by all forces on a given surface. In a multiplayer game with multiple forces on the same surface, the highest completed Green Engineering level determines the reduction used on that surface.
Compatibility
Go Green requires Factorio 2.1 and the base game. Machines added by other mods receive the reduction when they use Factorio's surface-effect receiver; machines without one are unaffected.
