g Reactor

Sorry, I don't understand how to create a reactor to generate such an amount of plasma. A conventional reactor is currently being installed. which generates only 10/s of plasma in a legendary capacity.

Or is it the engine itself that generates this plasma?

From before, there was a new reactor type that made this specific plasma from water. From what I've seen in the last version it was remade to use the normal reactor but I still have to get it. I recommend checking it out in editor mode

yes, so the current model you input regular plasma from a regular reactor and then through hidden entities it generates what’s necessary to actually make the thruster operate

Ok. These recipes have put me in a stupor.

Out of curiosity - why use hidden entities? Near as I can tell, fusion-plasma is just a fluid. Couldn't the thruster work on that directly? Not criticism, more I'm trying to wrap my head around it.

Yes and that is how it worked in earlier versions!

Thrusters consume equal amounts of fuel and oxidizer. I wanted them to consume more water than the standard production rate of the Space Age reactors and I wanted to ensure the player was able to form a proper coolant loop as well.

The hidden assembler allows one to have the desired water consumption and allows one to get their coolant back too

Got it, thank you for the explanation. That makes sense. It's odd how much of Space Age is hard-coded and not available to mod settings. Thrusters always have two inputs, they always consume them at the same rate, they have no outputs and I can't even tell what defines their thrust rating. So yeah, fair enough :)

Thrust rating is determined by a series of equations calulcated using these values. The resulting graphs are visible in the factorpedia in game.

There are also a few requests on the forum for the api to be more expansive
