I'm not sure how to actually enable Fun Mode.

Mod dependencies include Krastorio assets, cannot be enabled without it.
Krastorio assets is outdated and requires 1.1 or earlier.
Fun mod cannot be enabled earlier than 2.0

Am i missing something here?

You have an old version of Krastorio Assets, the way the in-game mod portal works, you need to update it separately. With the new version it should work after.
