Actually I haven't tried your mod yet. I planned a 1-mod-scenario a short time ago. In factorio scenario api is very limited. But with a corresponding mod, it basically can do anything.
Dota came from war3 people literally love controlling only 1 human-like unit and play in a virtual world.
Great concept.
