b Moving underground pipe breaks pipe connection somewhere else

Hey,

I've noticed that in setups with pipes and underground pipes, sometimes when i move an underground pipe, some other part of the pipeline breaks.
I doesn't happen everytime, but it seems to happen more when the pipes are being used by machines, so to reproduce:
1. setup some pipeline with machines providing liquid and machines consuming it, in my case there are always some underground pipes at max range
2. move an underground pipe closer to where it starts, then add a normal pipe to close the circuit

look over the whole pipeline, if the bug triggered, you'll find something like this somewhere:

This sometimes leads to weird behavior of fluids shifting to a different pipeline, the picture also shows this since those pipes originally had lubricant (the underground pipe that i moved is not visible in that screenshot.

if you need help reproducing the issue let me know, i might just end up providing a savefile if this proves tricky to reproduce on your end

Thanks for the report. Fluid handling changed quite a bit in 2.0 and I ran into at least one engine bug that was fixed in 2.0.14. What game and mod version were you using?

I could reproduce it just now. game 2.0.15-4 and mod 2.2.1.
But I moved a lot of pipes so I don't know exactly what triggered it now, I'll try to narrow it down and let you know

I managed to do it again. I separated this pipe, I moved the underground pipe to the left and it broke a straight connection the right side

I have a savegame from just before moving the pipe back, and it can be reproduced again by just moving that pipe. What's the best way to share it with you?

Great. Best way to share might just be on the forums (private message to @hgschmie I guess with the save game as attachment). Or file an issue on github: https://github.com/hgschmie/factorio-even-pickier-dollies/issues and attach it.

I am able to reproduce it (in fact I remember I have seen that before in one of my games but I thought that it was an early 2.0.x bug). Now let's see if I can cook up a fix...

it breaks exactly 20 tiles right of the entity that you move. :-) That has always been there, however it seems that with 1.1 the algorithm that moves entities did not end up doing so.

I reworked the "safe position" placing code for 2.3.0 quite a bit; in my local tests, everything now checks out well. It probably still has some bugs, please report any problems here.
