Early Selector Combinator

Do you love setting up complex logistic automation or memory cells, but hate waiting until Chemical (Blue) Science to unlock the Selector Combinator? This mod shifts circuit power into the early game!

This mod modifies the vanilla technology tree and item recipes to make advanced signal filtering accessible much earlier in your factory's lifespan.

Key Changes

  • Earlier Tech Access: Completely removes the Selector Combinator unlock from Circuit Network 3 (Chemical Science level).
  • Green Science Unlock: Adds the Selector Combinator unlock directly into the basic Circuit Network technology node (Green Science level).
  • Early-Game Recipe: Swaps out the Advanced Circuit (Red) requirement for crafting. It now costs Electronic Circuits (Green) instead, allowing you to mass-produce them without oil processing infrastructure.

Why use this?

In vanilla Factorio, the Selector Combinator is trapped behind oil refining, despite being a fundamental data tool. By making it available at Green Science, you can build smart belt sorting arrays, early-game item sorters, and multiplexing setups right when you first start playing with red and green wires.


Compatible with vanilla Factorio and behaves safely with standard progression overhauls.
