How about creating another mod that recognizes that the first iterations of anything are going to be 'utter garbage' (aka 'Normal') and only the final version is 'to spec' (aka 'Legendary'). (I don't like the whole system itself, but at least it could reflect reality a little better by acknowledging that someone in that situation would have to work like Hell just to work their way up to producing something barely acceptable.

(Yes, I could probably copy yours and do it myself, but I would have to learn everything that you already know and I've got other ways to fill my time and limited brain bandwidth.)
