Combat Drone & Projectile Turrets (WIP)

Developer Transparency Note: This mod is an experimental Work in Progress (WIP) built as an exploration into AI-assisted game development. The codebase, structures, and configurations were generated using advanced AI tools under the close supervision and architecture design of a human software developer. Expect continuous iteration, balancing, and updates as we refine the experience!

Overview

Hand-thrown combat items—like grenades, chemical capsules, and combat drones—often fall out of use once automated laser or gun turrets take over.

This mod lets you automate those items for late-game defense. By crafting Sabot Casings, you can encase capsules and drones, allowing them to be loaded into specialized automated turrets or a long-range handheld launcher.

Features

Components & Ammo

  • Sabot Casing: A craftable casing made from iron plates and copper cables. Serves as the required ingredient for encased ammo recipes.
  • Encased Munitions: Craftable variants of vanilla hand-thrown items (Grenades, Cluster Grenades, Poison Capsules, Slowdown Capsules, and Defender/Distractor/Destroyer Drones).

Weapons & Turrets

  • Capsule Launcher: A long-range handheld weapon for firing encased capsules and drones directly into enemy territory.
  • Projectile Turret (Red): An electric-powered turret that automatically fires encased grenades and chemical capsules over long distances.
  • Combat Drone Turret (Black): An advanced electric-powered turret that automatically deploys encased combat drones into the field when enemies approach.
