Circuit Wire Poles

This mod adds small poles that can be used to organize or span circuit wires over larger distances in a UPS-efficient way, loosely inspired by the wire holders of old mechanical railway signals. The poles are very small; thus, four of them can be placed on a single tile. Their wire reach is 32 tiles. Additionally, they have four rotations with distinct connection points for the red and green wire such that one of them will always fit your use case.

In order to place the poles accurately, several snapping options are available that snap newly placed poles or ghosts to one of six grid options. This only affects newly, manually placed poles - blueprints are not snapped, in order to preserve whatever grid was used to create them.

UPS Considerations

While you technically can use regular powerpoles for the purpose of organizing circuit wire, they have quite a noticeable UPS impact when their copper wires are removed, as they would create new power networks. The poles in this mod are technically constant combinators, which have much less of a UPS cost. In order to still be able to use them like you'd expect poles to work (i.e. with a signal preview if you hover over them), a signal viewer powerpole is used that is spawned only when hovering a circuit wire pole. This can also be disabled in the settings.

Limitations

As the poles are not actually power poles, dragging them to place at maximum distance is unfortunately not possible.
Due to engine limitations, it is also not possible to provide visual feedback of the snapping before the pole is placed. You can however enable visual feedback after placement in the settings.
