I just watched a video about chemically treating graphite with sulfuric acid and a soluble oxidizer ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z5RPPRS-KQ ) to create an ingredient in heat shielding. I think this kind of recipe can make the manufacture of SE heat shielding more fun!
