If I place dematerializer on an ore patch (I use mod "Texugo TA Miners" and mine directly into dematerializers), I can select Input Buffer but can't select Dematirializer itself. It just clicks through to the ore underneath. Therefore, I can't insert modules into dematerializer if it's placed on an ore patch.
Module Inserter mod ignores teleporters in any case, even outside ore patches, so I can't use it as a workaround.
