g why?

Why would u even have those in your inventory?
There is BP library where u store them without clogging your inventory.

I know, right? Hell, there is even a tab dedicated to that particular save, if you don't want to clog actual library (hotbar also can link to bp library, so that also isn't a reason)

I guess some people might find this useful? Hopefully?

Wube gave us 200 inventory slots and I'm going to use 200 inventory slots.
But to be serious, I personally like to keep a couple of recently/frequently used ones in my inventory instead of dealing with the library UI and I don't like cycling hotbars. I've heard enough people complain about having to deal with blueprints before traveling to space that I figured I'd make a small QOL mod that lets you get around that and doesn't offer any gameplay advantage because, like you said, it's free to put them in BP library.

i dont want to sound like a dick but i wonder what goes on with the people who genuinely consider that limitation to be a problem. do they not know or do they refuse to use the library so hard that the game as to adjust to there play style?
i genuinely dont understand how such a group of people can even exist, anyone i know eventually puts blueprints in the library if there arises a need to have them in the library.

Why there are so many people lately who feel a strong itch to temper with other people playstyle? I get that it's hard to move along and resist the urge to leave a comment that strokes their ego, but this game is not just for elitist snubs who feel threatened by every tiny mod out there.

I just asked why this was made? maybe there is something I dint know about factorio. Happens all the time. If I dont understand I ask.
I thought maybe there is a new use for Blueprints as objects a la recursive BP mod?
It sadly not the case.
I hope u scratched ur itch with ur post :D

i almost never used the blueprint library in 1.1, i would just store the blueprints i want to keep for every save like my compact fixed size science setups. Nuclear, stations rail etc. In every save i would just make BP and keep them in inventory of whatever i do a lot and when it was obsolete i just deleted it.

The 2.0 change has made me use the blueprint library and start organising it properly and its probably for the best because over the course of years i will make less duplicate blueprints but i can understand why people just wanna not need to care about that and just wanna go on a rocket. it honestly should just work and be optional to opitimise your style and 2.0 for better or worse forces you to "play properly" when it comes to BP storage.

I love this mod. Never understood why you can't bring blueprints with you.

I prefer my blueprints being physical things, feels more tangible than using the library.

how am i tempering with someones playstyle by saying that i dont understand why people get a mod for this instead of just using the feature already build in to the game?
all im doing is saying that i dont understand how a people can prefer doing that over using the library.

Blueprints are still the Exact same item if they are in the Library, you just put them in to a different inventory thats not connected to your character and depending on the Tab in the Library not even connected to the save but otherwise its exactly the same thing.

It's literally just 2 inputs. Press B. Ctrl-Left Click your inventory. All Blueprints will now be in your library. I spend more time getting rid of everything else in my inventory. And when you get to the planet you can just do the same thing again to get them back. They never stop being items.

thanks for the mod!
i constantly make temporary bps for shit but i don't wanna add them in the book with my big blueprints

For those of use who started playing before the "this save" tab was a thing, THANK YOU!

I rarely go out of my way to place blueprints in my inventory or the blueprint library. I generally only open the blueprint library when I want to transfer a blueprint between saves. Otherwise, I just place it on my hotbar, go to another planet, and suddenly find the blueprint on my hotbar no longer exists. Because for some reason, placing a blueprint on your hotbar and then clearing the cursor defaults to it going into your inventory rather than the blueprint library. If that behavior was changed, then this mod wouldn't be necessary.

It's literally just 2 inputs.

That's still 2 more inputs than the alternative.

this mod is actually useless if people have some discipline

name your plans
organize your plans by category in a book,
you can make sub-books to organize in chapters,
and link them directly to an action bar without occupying your inventory.
now you can even export your logistic inventory in a blueprint
