b inserter configuration on blueprint

whenever copying an inserter with long handed pick up, drop, or near side of belt on with a blueprint, if you turn the settings off and keep enable reach overrides on, the inserter doesnt save and goes back to normal when placed(haven't tested with normal bots, but personal roboport bots have shown to). if enable reach overrides is turned off, this does not happen. is this intended as i don't remember this being a thing, sorry if so. this also works vice versa, if you copy a normal inserter into a blueprint, and then have reach overrides on with a setting applied, they are overriden to have the new settings on them

No, that doesn't sound intended. If you copy and paste an inserter, nothing should change. I'll investigate and let you know what I find.

if needed i can try to get a gif or video of what i mean (was having trouble wording it), but thanks ^^

I have the same problem, inserters take and drop positions doesn't copy in blueprints, you have to manually configure them after blueprint is pasted on the ground

From my testing, everything seems to be working correctly as long as you don't have "Enable reach overrides" ticked. I'll try find a proper solution. Until then, just don't have this option ticked.

Copying this here as it is relevant to this topic. I learned it while investigating a separate issue I have with Ctrl-z.

"
Something else I noticed. Only learned from investigating the topics here because I never use Reach Overrides:
IF(
inserters are created using Reach Overrides...
AND those inserters are put in a blueprint...
AND Reach Overrides is ENABLED when you paste the blueprint...
)
THEN
The inserters will use whatever "long handed" and "near-side" settings that are checked when the blueprint is placed, NOT what was saved in the blueprint.
WORK-AROUNDS
1. Never use Reach Overrides to place an inserter that will be in a blueprint.
2. Make sure Reach Overrides is NOT checked when placing blueprints.
Ideally, fix the code to not use current "Reach Override" settings when blueprints are placed.
This hasn't been an issue for me because of how I place inserters: Place one or two machines, place inserters around them, configure the inserters, copy/paste this "module" as needed for the production line. Then they all work as expected when creating/pasting blueprints. I never use Reach Overrides to place inserters.
