A bit late, but Enemies has been majorly overhauled. It's basically ready to go, other than balancing, but expect it to be considerably more difficult now. As the maintainer working on it, I've taken the step of preemptively adjusting the game's default evolution settings to not make it too overwhelming.
In summary, enemies will now come in 7 different breeds, each with a full 8 tiers of biters, spitters, and worms. Each type has its own gimmicks, strengths, and weaknesses, and enemy bases will now tend towards having only a single faction in order to make them more distinct.
