Blueprint Stages

Blueprint Stages helps with designing multi-stage bases like 100% speedrun bases. It is intended to be used with editor mode.

To use it, place each step of your base on a separate stage and align each step so that when you switch between stages you stay in the same place.
This allows you to quickly make changes to the same part of your base in every stage.

Then, when your base is ready, use the 'Blueprint All' button to automatically take a blueprint of every stage and put it in a blueprint book in your inventory.
All stages will automatically be named and have numbered icons corresponding to their stage number.

Look in the settings tabs for options like changing the snap-to-grid grid size, ignoring certain stages when blueprinting (so you can have some stages for testing things that aren't blueprinted) and turning some stages into substages (which changes their numbering).

Hotkeys

Look at the tooltips on each button for hotkeys but for reference:

  • [CTRL+S] to toggle the main interface with the list of stages
  • [CTRL+Mouse wheel] to move between stages
  • [CTRL+SHIFT+Mouse wheel] to move the currently selected stage up and down

Notes

  • Currently only single player is supported.
  • For some reason the editor GUI returns to the top left whenever the player switches surface (ie whenever you switch stages). As far as I can tell this is not something I can change, so just drag the blueprint stages GUI somewhere else.
  • Currently the blueprint feature always includes everything including tiles, entities, modules, train stop names, trains and fuel. This should be the same behaviour as retaking blueprints with the "Select new contents for this blueprint" button.

Oh no! The mod has crashed!

Don't worry! You can recover your designs even if the mod breaks (assuming you have a save of course).

Simply disable the mod and load the save in the base game.
Then enter editor mode and go to the surfaces tab and you can manually go to each surface to retrieve your designs.
This will never happen though as this mod is perfectly designed.
