Currently, you can place multiple turret ghosts with ammo requests near an enemy nest, and then place them along with the ammo with a few presses of the spacebar. It seems too easy to fight like that.

I don't really know what to say besides if you don't like it, don't do it. Similar to how people choose whether or not they want to use turret creep in vanilla, I'm not going to add special cases into my mod just to prevent certain people from playing the game how they want.

In any other case, I'd easily agree with you. But your mod is incredibly well-designed. It would be great if it didn't disrupt the balance.
But of course, that's up to you. Killing the biter nests with your mod is also fun.

I appreciate the compliment.

If I were to nerf the ability to turret creep with the gun, what would that look like? There's two steps, building the ghosts and then supplying the ammo, both of which are core features of the mod. Do I just not allow you to insert ammo into turrets when they're too close to nests? That to me seems like an arbitrary "I don't like this" restriction, something of which I'm never really a fan of (cough cough Earendel). There's a couple mods out there that restrict turret creep (though they may need to be updated to 2.1) if that's something people want to use, or as previously mentioned people can just choose not to do it.
