i [WIP] Add an option to receive alerts from your game surfaces while you're in sandbox

Title's self-explanatory. Rn you can't see alerts in your main game surface while you're in BS which is pretty annoying as when something breaks you aren't notified to fix it asap.

It's nearly impossible, which is why it does not do that now. There is potentially a middle ground I'm working towards, so it might be an option, but you will sacrifice several other things to gain that functionality.

To name a few big ones: can only remote-view (not enter as a god), technology would be locked to yours (no all-tech), sandboxes would contribute to production statistics. In other words, integrating some things necessarily means removing differences, so if you feel like it's different while you're in a sandbox, then it's likely that it wouldn't be much different anymore.

It wasn't possible before the remote-view. Now it is, it's just so different that it's hard not to consider it a completely separate mod.

I'd most probably chose to have alerts instead of the things you've mentioned. The only big downside I can potentially see is Milestones mod triggering from both main game and BS (rn it triggers there too but the progressions for BS and main surface are separate) which is gonna make it pretty much redundant but I'll still take BS with alerts over it lol.

Your thinking is correct and similar to mine. Milestones is another example of something that would no longer be separate. The missing alerts are more painful than most of those other tradeoffs.
