g Request: Tungsten / Uranium Tier

(updated 7 months ago)

Can you please add (optional) support for the Tungsten Ammo mod? https://mods.factorio.com/mod/tungsten-munition

Currently, Tungsten gives the same bonus as Uranium with this Mod. I would like it if Uranium gave an additional Tier of bonus range (above Tungsten).

Thank you!

Tungsten gives the same bonus as Uranium.

This is intentional. Uranium and tungsten ammunition are of the same 'tier', so they have the same range.
Uranium ammo does more damage, so it's still the best ammo in the game, but if you're too lazy to import it, tungsten ammo will do.

I am actually using https://mods.factorio.com/mod/advanced-asteroid-reprocessing together with https://mods.factorio.com/mod/alternative-tungsten to obtain all of the Ores locally on my Space Platform. Because Uranium is rarer (absent mucking with the Probabilities) and has other uses (Fuel Cells!), I would like to save the extra Damage Output for when it’s “necessary”, such as Huge/Large Asteroids getting through my outer ring of Railgun & Rocket turrets….

Yes, I am aware that Tungsten + Uranium Ammo have Tiered damage upgrades, that is why I am using that mod - to provide a Damage Progression between ammo types. In this setup however, there is no Additional Range Tier 4 provided by Uranium - only the damage difference. Which, is sort of the point of this mod - adding Range to ammo Tiers….

I will look at the code and try to submit a Pull Request for my use case, if that would be accepted?

No, it would not. I want to keep it simple, so no specific user cases will be addressed.
If you don't like current settings and you want more customisation, just change it. Mod is public domain, so you can do whatever you want with it.
