Apprentice assembler (Fork)

by Brolks_

Maintained fork. Crafting speed increases by 1% for each completed craft, then slowly decays while idle. Module slots were reduced from 4 to 1 by default, but you can choose your preferred amount in startup settings.

I found this mod, loved the idea, and decided to maintain an updated fork because the original is no longer actively supported for my use case.

This fork keeps the original gameplay identity:

Similar baseline to Assembling Machine 3
No fluid connections
No circuit connectors
Internal speed ramp from continuous crafting
Lightweight runtime behavior
How it works:

Crafting speed increases by 1% per completed craft
Idle time reduces the current boost by 20% per second
Remaining boost is recalculated when production resumes
Bonus scales with quality
Beacons and modules still affect the machine normally
Current fork tuning:

Ramp cap is 500 crafts
Base module slots were reduced from 4 to 1 by default
You can set your preferred module slot count in Startup settings
Why this fork exists:

Keep the concept alive on modern 2.0 setups
Fix outdated beacon-interface integration
Add configurable balance for module slots
