Improve your factory's power production with advanced renewable energy technologies!

Advanced Energy expands Factorio's energy system by introducing upgraded solar panels with increased power output, new research technologies, and permanent nighttime electricity generation.

☀️ Solar Panels

Three new solar panel tiers are available:

MK3 and MK4 panels combine solar generation with a small amount of permanent electricity production.

This means they continue generating power even during the night!

🔬 Research & Crafting

Each solar panel tier requires its own technology.

• MK2: Requires a standard solar panel, electronic circuits, steel and copper plates.
• MK3: Requires an MK2 panel, advanced circuits, batteries and steel.
• MK4: Requires an MK3 panel, processing units, low density structures and batteries.

Each upgrade requires the previous tier, creating a natural progression throughout the game.

🎨 Unique Designs

Each panel has its own color to make it easy to identify:

• MK2: Green
• MK3: Red
• MK4: Blue

The original vanilla solar panel remains unchanged.

🌙 Nighttime Power Generation

MK3 and MK4 panels feature permanent power generation that works independently of sunlight.

• MK3: 330 kW solar + 30 kW permanent = 360 kW maximum.
• MK4: 660 kW solar + 60 kW permanent = 720 kW maximum.

The permanent generators may appear separately in the electrical network statistics.

🚀 Future Updates

Advanced Energy is still in development. The solar energy system is complete, but more power generation methods are planned:

• Wind Turbines: Multiple upgrade tiers, initially with constant production and later potentially variable wind output.
• Geothermal Energy: Natural geothermal deposits and dedicated power generation systems.

The goal is to create a complete renewable energy expansion for Factorio.
