this mod conflicts with radar improvement research https://mods.factorio.com/mod/radar-tech

if i place one of the tracker radars, it will get replaced with a regular radar, which when i mine it will also appear as a regular radar in my inventory

i've made a fix for the other mod, i havent looked at this mod, but it would'nt make sense if this caused the issue

The described behavior can only happen if radar improvement changes mineable.result of this mod. The blacklist should fix that.

its actually just replacing any radar with its own upgraded one upon placing it in the world, then the tracker-radar version is already lost. i actually dont understand how i get the vanilla radar as an item upon mining the upgraded radar, but radar-tech does not change mineable.result.

I misread your initial post.
What it seems to do is listen to on_built_entity and similar and replace the radar with base radar there.
