QOL mod that adds shortcut keys to change the item in your cursor to other items next to it in the Factoriopedia. Pressing shift+WASD will move to adjacent item left/right/up/down in the Factoriopedia. Press ctrl+shift+A/D to move between Factoriopedia's tabs.
Should be compatible with all overhaul mods, and mods that change Factoriopedia layout such as Resorted items.
Shortcuts are adjustable in the controls menu in-game. By default shift+mousewheel are alternative hotkeys for up/down and ctrl+mousewheel for left/right.
You can also hold your mouse over a minable entity and press the hotkey. Works for buildings, ore patches, trees, fish, etc.
There is a mod setting to use a different layout (see diagrams above) instead of the Factoriopedia layout. This layout was designed to be more intuitive, but it only works well with Space Age, not other overhauls. In this layout, shift+W/S moves item tier up and down, while shift+A/D switches counterpart items at the same tier. For example, shift+D moves from belts to undergrounds to splitters, while shift+W moves from yellow to red to blue. The same shortcuts apply to most items in the game, such as switching between pipes and underground pipes, or between tiers of modules, furnaces, miners, assembling machines, ammo, etc. There are many sets of counterpart items that can be reached through shift+A/D, for example: miners vs furnaces vs assemblers, asteroid collectors vs crushers, yumako vs jellynut, mash vs jelly, inserter vs long inserter, superconductor vs supercapacitor.
Switching currently doesn't work for pipetted signals or fluids, but I'm planning to add that if we get a mod API for reading/changing signals in cursor.
