why is the spidertron not allowed to take these? you know the one vehicle in base game with a grid??? on top of that being said why make the mod for the car and tank when you dont add the grid openly say we need to add a mod that dose add a grid why didnt you make that a dependence of the mod? so that when you did install this mod it added the grid instead of having to go and find one

Thanks for your interest.

Spidertron is a boring cheat, major balance flaw in Factorio1.* . Usually when it is researched and built player has abundant resources to waste on rockets. Didn't have time add its support. Maybe later.

Concerning mod dependencies that is not a good idea to force players to select vehicle grid mod for them. If someone is playing Krastorio, there is no need in grid mod. I prefer Rampant Arsenal. Someone may use Bob's Vehicle Equipment and so on.
In other words - I can't predict the way player adds grid and don't want to choose such mod for player. It's up for everyone to decide freely. For those who are not fans of any of these Krastorio/Bob's/Rampant I added a link in downloads to most simple one - https://mods.factorio.com/mod/VehicleGrid .

I could add VehicleGrid code for situation when no modification of grids is found. The same about nice essential mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/BatteryVehicleDisplay which allows to see vehicle battery charge without getting in - there were thoughts to take part of its implementation to show only charge and only when no driver inside... Maybe later.
