I know it can certainly feel like an unnecessary extra step, but I would strongly suggest adding a changelog to document your mod's version history. This allows players to know what has changed (and people like me can see what might need some testing to help you out) but it also allows you as a modder to occasionally go back and marvel at how far you've come. "The journey is the destination" as some philosopher said, and being able to look back and see just how far you've come can be immensely satisfying.
