Teleportation_Redux

Mid and late-game techs for teleportation devices. Adds beacons which allow teleportation between them, and equipment that allows teleporting within vision range, including radars, using a remote. Both methods require power proportional to the distance traveled. Also includes optional telelogistics technology which transfers items from a Teleprovider chest to a selected Beacon (hit R on the chest to set it). Original by Apriori, updated to 0.17+ by Silari.

g [DONE] Use with spidertron?

Is it possible to use the personal teleporter with spidertron? According to the mouse-over box for the personal teleporter, it can go into spidertron's equipment grid (which it can do, and it charges up), but it doesn't seem possible to use it. When I'm in a teleporter-equipped spidertron and press the teleport buton for one of my beacons I just get the message "You must stand on a teleporter beacon or have a personal teleporter equipped to teleport", as if the mod is only checking my player rather than the spidertron as well. It's understandable if teleporting spidertrons isn't supported but then should the personal teleporter item be changed so that it cannot be placed in the spidertron grid?

The actual bug here is that it should give you an error that you can't teleport with a vehicle - same as attempting to use the jump targeter. That probably got skipped when I redid the error messages a bit ago.

Unfortunately there isn't a really good way to limit stuff to only the player's equipment. Vanilla has player armor and spidertron grids use the same equipment category - 'armor', so any equipment that can go in one can go in the other, and changing anything means potentially breaking other mods.

I'll look into letting spidertrons/vehicles teleport if they have their own teleport equipment. I'm not sure why the mod disallowed it in the first place - he never gave any reason I can see, and the same APIs work just fine. If I do so, it'll probably come with an increase in cost to account for the larger mass (ie the advantage the extra storage/weapons gives).

Yeah that makes sense, increased cost for teleporting spidey seems pretty sensible - draining the entire beacon's power even.

New version up. You can now teleport in a vehicle, provided that vehicle has at least one teleportation equipment of it's own. In vanilla, that means the Spidertron only. Player doesn't need equipment in their armor, but if they have it it can also provid the needed energy if the vehicle doesn't have enough on its own.

Cost is +10% for each gun, +1% for each inventory and equipment grid slot. So vanilla spidertron is 240% increase over a player. It's just under what a beacon can provide, funny enough.

You've got some other mod breaking it then, possibly by changing the equipment categories of vehicles. Vanilla only has one category, so any equipment can be used in any grid.
