Supply Drop

by Gangsir

You aren't alone on Nauvis. Someone, something out there wants you to succeed and get off the planet. You've been noticing strange crates that don't look like they're from this planet landing nearby occasionally. They seem to contain supplies for you. You don't know who's sending them, but whoever they are, they're certainly helpful.

Changelog

Version: 0.3.1

    - Fixed a crash caused by minimum time between drops being above max.
    - Fixed an issue with multi-output crafting causing crashes.
  Changes:
    - Now uses ingame changlog system.
Version: 0.3.0
Date: 2019-01-01
  Changes:
    - Loot table is now dynamic, instead of being based on stages of the game as it was before. This means that items can only start appearing in crates if you've crafted or obtained them previously before. No progression jumps! It also uses a weight based system, so getting fancy craftables like filter inserters is more uncommon than getting iron plates, for example. These were problems that plagued the old version of the mod, and I've hopefully fixed them.
    - The mod is much more user-balance-able, several settings have been added to tweak the mod's balance to your liking. You can change how often they drop, how many items are in them, apply a general multiplier if you're getting too much or too little, etc. You can even make crates damage their surroundings upon landing, if you'd like. It's even possible to manipulate the loot table while a game is running, including changing counts, weights, or just removing entries from the list. Adding new entries is possible too, if you'd like items from a mod to drop. If you keep making the same adjustment and have a balance suggestion or want me to add support for a certain mod, let me know.
    - Crates are now able to be hot-replaced with other chests, so you can for example hot-replace it with an active provider logistics chest to have bots automatically collect your drop.
    - The mod now scales crate contents based on how many players are in the game (+0.25x per player beyond 1 by default) and by how long the save's been going! See the faq for the time formula.
    - Crates now overflow into more nearby crates if the item count is too high. This means that no matter what, you'll always get your whole supply drop, no matter how high your multiplier is. [Seriously, even with an absurd 5000x multiplier.](https://streamable.com/u055h). This feature can be disabled, to simply destroy the items that don't fit.
    - Other mods can now manipulate the loot list too, a remote interface is provided. See the FAQ for info on how to use it.
    - Graphics have been updated to high res.
