i [Completed-1.8.0] Option to unhide hidden Tech?

I'm playing with Krastorio 2 and cannot research personal batteries despite having researched all prequisites that the tech tree shows.
Removing this mod then reveals that some of the "useless" techs regarding armor are hidden since they provide no benefit to the spidertron engineer.
Would it be possible to have a toggle in the options to disable hiding techs to improve mod compatibility?

Ah, that's not ideal. Wouldn't a better solution be for me to automatically remove all prerequisites that refer to hidden technologies? Or, perhaps even better, I'll just mark the hidden technologies as 'researched'. Perhaps not, though, because that will mess with the saves when people remove the mod.

This was added in 1.8.0 as "compatibility mode"
