SSPP Logistics Train Mod

by jagoly

A logistics train mod that aims to be as pleasant to use as possible, even when knee-deep in byproducts. SSPP stands for Source-Sink-Push-Pull.

Hi jagoly,
we have a pyanodon run in HARDmode by notnotmelon.

Currently at py3 science - just unlocked nexelite trains.

Would you be interested in testing your mod on this map - maybe create a small track somewhere?
From there, we could make blueprints etc. - it seems that some users might find that useful.

we currently use Cybersyn there and for some parts vanilla.

The issue is exactly what you describe - byproducts. ergo the 2 networks.
SSPP seems to be able to solve that.

I seem to understand the need of setting up the system as you descibe - however for py with hundreds of products - maybe there could be some sort of default setting to get started for each of the product?

I do believe that the map might be a nice test run.

Let me know what you think, I will link you the discord chat if you want.

I'm honoured but also terrified hahahaha. Py (and especially hard mode where dealing with byproducts is even more important) was the main target for this mod. Though, my dirty secret is I've never actually made it to py sci 2 because I end up spending months messing around with trains and never finishing the transition to the rail base. Trying to do that in my single player world currently but haven't gotten far since there's always work to do on this mod.

Regarding tedium of setting up hundred of products, the next feature update will include "duplicate" buttons in the various tables, which would copy that row except with the name/item/fluid cleared, to make adding items with similar settings faster. I think that should help?

HMI would definitely be an ideal test run, though I think it might be better if some of the existing players tried to set things up and then just asked me about any issues. My test world actually uses py, so I could clean that up and share it if people wanted to use it for blueprints. I'd still love an invite if for no other reason than it'd be awesome to check out the kinds of things being done with the existing train network. I'm already in the discord chat haha.

Ok, so you can get in touch with me in the discord chat, "pyhard-or-pyharder" - subthread "Hard Melon Island". Check the pinned message there. "Artistizen".
I will now install the mod on the server and report back.

Ok - the mod is not researchable in the tech tree.
This happens sometimes.
I asked notnotmelon if he could have a look at it.

Have a look around the island. I get the tinkering with the train stations - I think I finally made a "universal" one that is requester and provider 20+ items and fluids. It should work with your mod as well.
Might be a good match to test things and you can tinker around while we slowly progress.
PyHard is more fun in multiplayer I think. Looking forward to coop and enjoy mod coding!

We are on 1-1-1 trains with the ME mod for double power ... that was awesome unlocking it in chem science.
