Bobs has quit doing his mod last year if not this year and because of this. Bob's has handed all bob's mods over to be maintained by others still having the license. The last 1-5 updates has been done by: https://github.com/modded-factorio/bobsmods
So i don't think it will be dead yet at least.

Well yeah, but the license is still a lot more restrictive, and this mod has a bit different approch that I think is quite easier to understand and maintain, but this will depend on who is maintaining the project.
