I think it would be nice to add a technology/recipe to create a faster version of the shuttle train, e.g. twice the max speed at the cost of a more complex and expensive recipe, e.g. something like

"diesel-electric shuttle train"
1 shuttle train + 20 electric engines + 50 processing units + 10 artifacts"
max-speed: 2.5 (normal: 1.2), energy consumption: 1MW (normal:600kW)

I tried that, even up to mk4 but broke the mod when fiddling with the control.lua since it's all more or less gibberish to me (tried adding in new instances for the shuttletrain in control.lua but can't properly tell which parts are gui and which are underlying functions)

I second this request! Especially when playing with Bob's Mods, I'd really like a faster shuttle train ^_^

I'd love to see Bob's Mods compatibility. Vehicle equipment especially.

Does anyone know if the author still maintains this mod?
