When using AAI industry with Bob and Angel the first few techs require the burning experiment but the burner lab does not accept that science pack so there is no way to research anything.

do you have other mods affecting technology installed? also if you have angels industry technology overhaul, it is not supported (yet)

burner lab in angels, bobs and AAI combination has been tested and works, even if you enable steam phase with bobs. mind it's burner lab (needs also coal) that is used for research of burner technology (it also accepts angels bio token - when bio enabled, and red science pack)
