If all else fails, use the /respawn command. There is a built-in corpse tracker so you can go find your stuff again, but this will let you get home quickly.

I'll think about some options for getting back home that'll work even in early-game. Perhaps the Resource Scanner can include a "HUB" option to help you get back there...

I have added the "HUB Finder" to the shortcuts bar. This should allow you to find your way back to the HUB easily.
