Rampant Evolution

by Veden

Changes evolution mechanic to allow for green play. All evolution parameters are configurable and retroactively work on-the-fly. Tries to balance evolution level with number of nests covered by pollution. Killing units reduces evolution. Sets vanilla map evolution factors to 0 in new game settings and can change existing save map evolution factors in mod settings. If you want the vanilla options still, use the mod settings in Rampant Evolution. Has stats for displaying evolution in game.

g what is rampant hive?

what is the difference between rampant hive and spawner (in settings)

Any answer possible? I have the same question please.

Specifically I'm trying to work out what the difference is when you refer to "Evolution per Rampant hive killed" and "Evolution per Spawner killed". I don't see anything that differentiates a hive from a spawner and Google is drawing a blank for me except for other people with the same question.

Some clarification?

Afaik, hives remove evolution when killed, while spawners add evolution when killed. Also Hive has more HP and can spawn any type of biter from that faction. not alot to it.

The base Rampant mod (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Rampant) adds hives. They are a special type of spawner and are explicitly called hives when you hover over them.

When a hive is active it will slowly create worms and spawners around itself, usually (?) toward your base. I think it also has a very small chance to spawn additional hives each time it rolls a biter structure to create.
