It seems the penalty for adding modules is to slow the machine down, only problem is by ~6-8 extra slots the machines become un-usable, even filling entirely with tier1 speed modules they're slower than default and take up significantly more power.
It would be nice to have the option to either turn this penalty off or change the scaling, otherwise stock machines end up manufacturing faster and more efficiently always.
