I'm not entirely clear what progress you're talking about.

The entire line of spikes, from simple wooden ones to the most powerful ones, is essentially progress... Moreover, I specifically tried to balance them so that they could effectively deal with all vanilla enemies, with the exception of the Aquilo Destroyers, for which I have another fork with atomic and thermonuclear mines.

If you're talking about additional technologies that increase the effectiveness of existing spikes, that's illogical. Because spikes are, by design, the most primitive weapon possible.

There's simply nothing to modernize them...

the problem with "collision_mask" and "hidden"

I think I read this, and interpreted it as there being something wrong/not working as intended. I'll check it out and see for myself! Thanks for the response

I tried it, and it works great. Could use some settings to tweak the effectiveness against modded/quality enemies. Other than that, thanks for your hard work

I tried using a different prototype for the spikes earlier this year. Using mines instead of turrets. But unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work correctly there either, and the person who helped me with it disappeared...

So, here we are. Basically, even in this version, the spikes seem to work, although not quite as expected.
