I was able to reproduce this consistently in my save. I imagine it's a mod interaction but it's not clear to me which. I have several, possibly too many, installed. The error that prints to screen reads.

LuaEquipmentGrid doesn't contain key type.

I was early on enough in the game that I hadn't actually attempted any planet hopping yet so I just uninstalled the mod and that resolved it. Figured you'd want to know.
