Mark ore with the Peppermint tool and construction bots will start mining it. Or enable Nougat Mining mode and it'll happen automatically!

It's ugly. But I also am not sure how to reign in it.
The solution (if one considers it a problem, which you might or might not) I'd prefer is to just not spill() more ore bits than fit in one tile.
