sorry if my previous sorry made you feel sorry x) the quality of the songs has changed because the first one is almost 2 years old i think, i would happily revisit a genre explored during that time, and hopefully the song will reflect the learning with the tricks i learned during that exploration :)

mmmmm i see, i may start to work on one that's called I hate robots, because i received couple messages so ridiculously hateful it became comical lately, but sometimes it feels like mocking the insecurity of people so i'm not sure it's always funny cuz many people can feel insecure about robots, it's difficult to mock the particular moment when this insecurity transform into hate to make sure it can be identified as a mistake by the listeners x)

I wanted to do a song for the space age anniversary , 1 year, but it felt way too short, almost scary , and who likes birthday songs anyway ? It's the most difficult i found to think of something akin to a "main theme", it's too generic for lyrics, i feel the song need an angle or a story, a drive, maybe if there is a new FFF ... who knows maybe tomorrow :)

I actually don't know how you manage to have so much imagination between lyrics and music :D You shouldn't create so many problems for yourself out of hatred or fear, people always understand what they want anyway. As for the new version of Da Worm, I agree with you that it's time to finish it :D

Well i feel unless you live in total isolation you can't avoid problems caused by the stupidity of humans, that's like a law of the universe, so if you make songs or funny things out of them, you have a infinite source ;) Those hateful message i receive to me they are like manure for the flower of creativity,

You can't grow a flower out of manure only though :) you need light and water, those are like the positive feedback and the person for whom you make the music, that's the most important :)

Haha you can use it of course, also no need for credits x) it's not really my metaphor, i borrowed and mixed 2 ideas, one i heard of in a song under the name "la théorie du plat de pate" , which is french from "pasta meal theory", where pasta is a metaphor for the important things in life, and sauce is the superfical. You can live only of off pasta, but it's a bit boring without the sauce, you can't live only eating the sauce, it makes the pasta good, but alone it's not nutritious. The other is also related to a song "fleur de bitume", meaning "tar-flower", like those little flower that find their way to bloom in cracks of cities infrastructure where if enough dirt gather it can turns to bits of soil. It is also a frequent name for student association helping other students from impoverished background around here . I'm not native english either, bringing some ideas from another langage is also quite the source of inspiration :) That's the positive side of "isolation i suppose ", "better alone than in bad company" is also a french saying, :D, to me it resonate because i feel then you can choose for yourself only the positive influences, like sun and water :)

I have another version of "I dance alone" that i was working on too, it sounds a little funny and more pop/ rock / folk than the current one, maybe that's the one i need to finish :) , though it may take a while and there's no guarantee i can finish them, sometimes there's something i feel is missing for a song and it's only later , by random luck that i can pinpoint it, and sometimes not, and it is the inspiration for a better version :)

"I dance alone" is also nice, I guess you'll update the mod when you get updates in the songs maybe one day ;D where are you from? do you speak French from France or elsewhere?

No guarantees for the songs, sometimes it feels not quite right and i don't know why, sometimes i know why but i am unable to change it to a satisfiying result, i only finish maybe 5 to 10 % of the songs i'm working on, because every day i play a little at least, there's a lot of no-good , but sometimes it's worth revisiting :)

I took a bit of time to consider your questions, i'd rather talk about the music really :) i can confirm the few personnal bits already in songs descriptions , like i learned french in france and when it influences my choices but that's not the flag i would put on my ship, more like a smiley face, if i had a ship. It would be docked in a french harbour though. Does that matter ? where you from ? :)

It does cause me some difficulties because i'm not used to answer in this context, i take that as an opportunity to learn :)

One of the reason it takes time to revisit a song is because i need to find the files and i haven't found a smart system yet, when i play i don't know the name of the thing i'm about to make, it comes along the way 'sometimes", so i have plenty of folder, a new one everyday and inside there can be one or more "thing" that i tried, and they are named per date. That's like 700 folder or so, and i'm not sure when/where exactly is the song. It waste a lot of time to open them one by one / loading all the plugins everytime, only to realize "it's not the one" ... It's boring and i often just start someting new instead.

You would think i could just give them name, and i tried, but it quickly turns to "drum 1 , bassline 12, guitar solo 4 " and i have to open the project to know what it is anyway.

This is another reason for why i say "no guarantees" for the songs , sometimes i can't find them , in case you have an idea that can help for the future x)

What a difficult life that of an artist! :D I think there is nothing that can help you in a situation like this! You could not keep everything and throw away what you consider bad

I should probably throw more things away than i do, but for music i feel there are those songs that are trololo, you just get 30 seconds of them randomly and it makes you laugh or smile or shake your body on the main melody, but you wouldn't include them in a playlist that may repeat a lot, music that are very circumstancial, there for that special moment where you absolutly need that song, which is a "bad song" maybe , but the good kind of bad, the goofy one , that's funnily bad for this moment. I hesitate a lot sometimes before publishing one song , i have to question why i like it, to make sure it's not purely one of those.

I can send in private or a temporary public link the alternative version of "Da worms", one trololo as example, , and one i spend hours trying to fix back then ,but when i found the project, and listen to it again, i was not convinced it was worth adding in the mod.

Same for the " I dance alone" song, i have found the other version, but the quality imo is not very good, it was an older AI model, i hesitated between the 2 version back then, but now i feel i made the right choice of not making it public.

If there is something you like though maybe i can reconsider my choices, and this way you still get to hear the song and not regret anything if they are not included.

I think you should create more by feeling than by logic! "da worm" and "i dance alone" I'd love to hear the new versions you've created! Thanks

But out of curiosity, are you a professional musician? You're truly gifted! "Da worm rock" is beautiful! Very aggressive! It has a bit of tribal that fits very well! The disco version is equally beautiful but I'm too old to fully appreciate it now :D "I dance alone" is the one I liked the least, I prefer the "old" version I don't know if it's because of the voice or maybe the music which has a bit of a retro feel, congratulations, very good!

haha thanks but no i'm a jobless enthusiast, not a profesionnal, i just have a lot of time that i use for music, every day, all day either playing with the software trying to make something on my own, following tutorials, youtube lessons or listening to (my) generated AI songs to try and curate the best, sample the good part, decompose them, test new ideas and also lots and lots of time listening to actual profesionnal musician :) It's been 2-3 years that i'm on this path,

Ended up learning more so i could give AI my own pieces instead of using prompt and been learning and toying since then :)

I think Da worm rock is missing something, i tried many variant, with different lyrics too, some shorter, but the ending / past middle part i feel isn't matching the energy of the first part, it's a bit like the AI doesn't know where to go, even when indicating with words and giving the first part, i wasn't satisfied with any of the vocals in the endings i tried and couldn't stich together a version that i felt like "it's ok now i don't touch anymore".

The disco one is an example of song i would have on my mp3 for running under the rain or something very situationnal, not for random plays during a factorio game :)

the "i dance alone" is the 'worst' of the three i think, I would have tried to rework the voice if you liked the music behind but i can hear it's not case :)

The better voices i found / learn how do with the reggae mod, so for a future song, it will sound better hopefully, i will try to make something with the same mood and vibes than "bug rage night" when i'm done with current projects x) I
